It’s been far too long since I’ve done a blog post. Life always has a way of altering things just when you get into a comfortable routine. I have still been pretty active on my other social media platforms, because they’re more on the go and easier to maintain. A blog post does take me more time because I like to be in a nice calm place to channel all of my writing juices. Anyway, the tides of life are calming and I’m back at it. I will try my best to catch up on the ton of reviews and posts that have been on hold. Anyway, enough with the rant. Let’s get to the review.
So Sigma has released *insert drum roll* their new line of Sigmatech Fiber brushes. And I must say, they have quickly become some of my favorites. Firstly, let’s talk about what makes them so special.
As summertime approaches everyone is on the search for that “glow”. A lot of makeup artists find it hard to tone it down during the colder months, but now that the warmer climate is upon us it is totally acceptable to pack on the highlight!
As a makeup lover and collector, there is always something to look forward to in the makeup world. That is the beauty of this industry. Trends always come full circle, better products are released and exciting collaborations are established. This palette ignited that excitement in me!!! It was one of my personal must haves for the year and I was honored to receive it from Morphe Brushes. They have collaborated with the fabulous Jaclyn Hill and created, in my opinion, one of the most well rounded and versatile palettes of the year at a ridiculous affordable price.
Motives Cosmetics is rocking the makeup industry in recent years. They released a host of new products at their World Conference this past February in Miami. The collection consisted of an array of blushes, eyeshadows, lipsticks and liquid lipsticks. I’ve had the privilege of receiving the whole collection.
If you are a makeup lover like myself, you will find yourself constantly searching for the perfect eyeliner. Whether it’s to create a fierce wing, for a smokey lashline, or for a long wear product for the waterline you will consistently be adding to your collection of liners. I am all about long wear products and whenever I hear about a new or improved liner being released, I can’t help but pick it up! Perfecting a quick and effortless wing is a struggle for sure, so I’m always trying out products to make the process as easy as possible. Tarte has recently released a new eyeliner called “Tarteist Clay Paint” Liner and from what I have seen it looks pretty awesome. Have any of you tried it? Is it a must have? Lol
These are my favorite eyeliners of the year. Whether you are a pencil, gel or liquid girl. I have included a higher end option along with a drugstore choice for everyone’s budget.
One of the hardest makeup products to find is the PERFECT foundation. It’s ironic because there are literally a million different companies that offer a wide range of shades and formulas, which I think adds to the frustration of “Where do I even start looking?”. Before I was a makeup artist I tried a ton of different foundations trying to find the formulation for my own skin. They either made me break out, oxidized and turned orange, or would slide around after a few hours.
After years of searching I have finally found a few different foundations that worked for me and also made it into my makeup kit. But before we get into those, let’s talk a little bit about skin types and picking the right foundation.
Who doesn’t love glowing, luminescent skin? I know that I do. I originally planned on selecting my Top 5 Highlighters, but let’s be serious. There is no way that I could have narrowed down this list to just 5. As a freelance makeup artist that comes across all different skin tones, it is essential to have various highlighters that compliment all ranges of beauty. I also like to make sure I have different textures and formulas to alter the finish of look I am going for.
There are three different types of Highlighters: Powder, Cream and Liquid.
